Napoli Capodichino
Napoli Capodichino Airport (LIRN-NAP) is the international airport serving the city of Naploli and the entire Campania, one the Southern Italian regions.
According to 2023 data,the airport is the fourth-busiest airport in Italy and the busiest in Southern Italy. The airport serves as a base for easyJet, Ryanair, Volotea and Wizzair.
The airport is class 4D ICAO and has the classification of military airport opened to commercial air traffic 24 hours/day.
The airport management company is fully responsible for managing the airport and coordinating and control activities of all the private operators present in the airport.
Capodichino hosts some aeronautical industrial activities like Atitech, Alenia Aeronautica, Aeronavali, Tecnam Costruzioni Aeronautiche.
Salerno Costa D'Amalfi
Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport (LIRI/QSR) is an airport located in the comune of Pontecagnano Faiano in southern Italy.
It serves the city of Salerno and the coastal areas of Amalfi Coast and Cilento. It is also known as Salerno-Pontecagnano Airport.
In July 2024, the airport has resumed scheduled passenger flights after a long break from commercial operations.
EasyJet and Volotea are serving the airport with new domestic and international routes. To accommodate large passenger aircraft, the runway has been extended to 2,000 metres (6,560 ft).
In 2025, the construction of a new terminal is planned, along with a runway extension to 2,200 m (7,220 ft), the creation of more parking space and the construction of a new general aviation terminal.
The airport is supposed to be fully operational in 2026 or 2027.
Pilot briefing
- Make sure to have Airac 2410 installed.
- Be ready for delays or holdings.
- Remember comply with speed published on the SID/STAR charts.
- LIRN ILS 24 has a no-standard gradient. Be aware of energy management performing the approach.
- LIRN ILS 06 has offset localizer. Be ready for manual flying the aircraft in the final stages of the approach.
